The end of lament

Hope stretches out before me.
I think it was Ann Voskamp who said something to the effect of:
'Live a life worth writing about'.

My given name is not Maria.
I chose to write under a pen name here for many reasons, not the least of which is that I do, indeed, have a life worth writing about.  But this story is not mine alone.  This story intertwines and depends upon the stories of those that go before, walk beside, and come behind me.
If even I have issued out serial forgiveness in some cases, I owe all of these honor and respect.
I will not sacrifice them on the alter of self-disclosure.

I chose the name Maria Perrine, because it is a family name.
While I am not she, I share in her inheritance.
Though I write under a pseudonym, the facade ends there.
Names are changed, yes, but all the rest is as it truly is.

I am reaching for the incorruptible while encased in the corruptible... the perishing body of my humanness.
I will wear out, and may I die trying to.
May my life be the offering it was meant to be, and my giving be unto depletion.
This is the life worth writing about.

I am thankful for....
... my quiet community
...  electricity, heat, phone coverage
... a roof over my head
... my mother's sickness, because He is there in all of it
... the way I have to cling to Him
... the can-do attitudes of my children, my husband
... how the incorruptible can be housed in the corruptible
... how grace rescued me, how it rescues me still

~Maria

  1. This is so interesting, maria. It's a great way to really be honest and write out all your thoughts! and I really like how you express it all in words.

  2. We all have a unique testimony to share. Basically, our personal story of what Jesus has done in our lives. It's a powerful tool against the enemy of our souls! Revelation 12:11 Love & prayers, in Jesus, Cynthia
